Hello, my name is Brian Ver Straten and I’m a design and branding professional with experience working as the in-house Creative for respected brands like Sotheby's International Realty, D.C. United and Barnes & Noble Inc., as well as providing contract design work for a variety of clients, ranging from professional sports teams to financial institutions.
Currently, I serve as Vice President & Creative Director at TTR Sotheby's International Realty - where I lead the marketing, design and branding for one of the most successful real estate brokerages in the United States.
Previously, I have served as Creative Director for Major League Soccer's D.C. United. Over the span of four seasons with D.C. United, I re-focused and refined their branding and design work. I was the creative force behind the team's 2016 re-brand, advertising campaigns, unique photography, apparel/jersey concepts, ticket/packaging designs, and much more. I also developed the branding for the new soccer stadium - Audi Field. Beyond D.C. United - I have freelanced for additional sports teams – including the English Premier League's Swansea City AFC, and The National Basketball League’s New Zealand Breakers and Brisbane Bullets.
I began my creative career as part of the Creative & Advertising team at Barnes & Noble's New York City headquarters. At B&N, I had the opportunity to work in conjunction with global publishing companies, music labels, movie studios, and brands like Starbucks and Samsung while producing creative materials for 700+ retail stores.
In addition to designing, I enjoy collecting vinyl records, drinking good coffee, and spending time with my wife & daughter.
